About Lunar Productions

Lunar Productions started because two actors, Dan and Jon, got tired of waiting for opportunities and decided to create their own. They met in an acting class, grabbed a camera, and started shooting scene recreations just to get reps. What began as DIY practice footage turned into something bigger when they connected with Jake, a filmmaker and editor who shared their same scrappy, figure-it-out energy.

After collaborating on Game Night, the three of them realized they worked well together and wanted to keep building. That's how Lunar was born: three people who refused to wait for permission, pooling their skills to make the work they cared about.

 

We're still that same crew at our core, just with better gear and a clearer mission. Every project we take on, whether it's our own short films and episodics or the demo reels we create through Lunar Clips, gets the same treatment: thoughtful creative direction, honest collaboration, and a refusal to cut corners on craft. We're not trying to be the biggest production company in Chicago. We're trying to be the one filmmakers actually want to work with.
